Where's Waldo in Glens Falls
Waldo is on the loose in Glens Falls and the search for him is on! He’s hiding in shops in The Shirt Factory at The Crandall Library and maybe even going to Kitch a Vibe for a bite to eat. Stop by the bookstore to get a passport, which you can get stamped when you find Waldo. When you collect enough stamps, you get prizes! At the end of the month on July 31st at 5pm we’re having a Waldo party at Little Black Walnut Books!

Boozy Book Fair at Bound by Fate Brewery
We’ll be at Bound By Fate for another Book Fair on Wednesday 7/30 from 5-8. They have delicious food, great drinks (their house made soda is incredible) and the perfect deck to enjoy a summer time read on.

Horror Book Club with Beldame Books

We started Indigenous and Lit with the intention of creating a community space where members can share their thoughts and ideas about contemporary Native American literature, as well as indigenous resources and information. Paper and Clay Book Club: Born Sacred
The next Paper & Clay book club and pottery class will be Sunday July 27th at 2pm and we are discussing Born Sacred by Smokii Sumac. Tickets are available in the bookstore or on our website. We will also be hosting a virtual discussion on Discord on 7/28 at 6pm.
At the Paper and Clay Book Club we discuss a queer Black Walnut Books pick while making pottery together. You can decorate your pieces with a custom stamp that matches the book cover.

Author Event and Book Signing with Victoria Zeller
If you follow me you have probably heard how much I loved the book One of the Boys. It is definitely one of my top books of the year, and one of my all time favorite young adult books ever, so I am incredibly excited that the author Victoria Zeller will be coming to Black Walnut Books for a reading and book signing on 7/26 at 6pm. This book is not only a joy to read, it is also vitally important representation, so Lower Adirondack Pride and Black Walnut Books are partnering for a book drive. You can purchase a copy here or in the bookstore to be distributed to youth in our region. 10% of the sales will be donated to Lower Adirondack Pride.

Story Hour with Lil Miss Hot Mess and Jacinta Bunnell
I am very excited to announce that Lil Miss Hot Mess will be coming to Glens Falls for a Drag Story Hour and book signing! She will be reading her new book Make Your Own Rainbow. She is joined by her friend, author Jacinta Bunnell, who will be reading her book A More Graceful Shaboom. 10% of the book sales will be donated to Lower Adirondack Pride and you can head to their website to sign up or get more information. There will be two showings, one at 5pm and one at 6pm. Registration is required.

A Big Gay Market
I’ll be vending at A Big Gay Market on 7/13 from 11-4pm in Washington Park in Albany. This is one of my favorite events. There are so many incredible artists and fun vendors. It’s a sweet little community and feels like what we need right now. If you live in Albany/ are coming to the market, I am happy to bring special orders for pick up.

While we chat about the book, Eric from Adirondack Pottery will walk us through making a functional ceramic art piece. We have a themed stamp for each book pick, which you can use to decorate your piece.
In April we are reading Fruiting Bodies by Kathryn Harlan. You can get tickets here.

If you would prefer to pay in cash (which is awesome since there aren’t high credit card fees that way and 100% of the ticket goes to cover the cost of the clay) you can stop into the bookshop!
