Where's Waldo in Glens Falls

Waldo is on the loose in Glens Falls and the search for him is on! He’s hiding in shops in The Shirt Factory at The Crandall Library and maybe even going to Kitch a Vibe for a bite to eat. Stop by the bookstore to get a passport, which you can get stamped when you find Waldo. When you collect enough stamps, you get prizes! At the end of the month on July 31st at 5pm we’re having a Waldo party at Little Black Walnut Books!

Author Event and Book Signing with Victoria Zeller

If you follow me you have probably heard how much I loved the book One of the Boys. It is definitely one of my top books of the year, and one of my all time favorite young adult books ever, so I am incredibly excited that the author Victoria Zeller will be coming to Black Walnut Books for a reading and book signing on 7/26 at 6pm. This book is not only a joy to read, it is also vitally important representation, so Lower Adirondack Pride and Black Walnut Books are partnering for a book drive. You can purchase a copy here or in the bookstore to be  distributed to youth in our region. 10% of the sales will be donated to Lower Adirondack Pride.

Paper and Clay Book Club and Pottery Class

I cohost the Paper and Clay Book Club and Potter Class with Adirondack Pottery. We meet quarterly to discuss a Black Walnut Books queer read. While we chat about the book, Eric from Adirondack Pottery will walk us through making a functional ceramic art piece. We have a themed stamp for each book pick, which you can use to decorate your piece.

In April we are reading Fruiting Bodies by Kathryn Harlan. You can get tickets here.

We’ll be meeting at Adirondack Pottery, which is right down the hall from the bookstore at The Shirt Factory, on Saturday April 26 and Sunday April 27th at 6:30pm. If you would prefer to pay in cash (which is awesome since there aren’t high credit card fees that way and 100% of the ticket goes to cover the cost of the clay) you can stop into the bookshop!
